These protests were directed against the inherent imbalances in American colonial values and the notion that freedom and equality have been demonstrated by the U.S. capitalist democracy at this point in history.
The 4th of July Coalition also called for counter-demonstrations in other cities and for like-minded leftist groups to organize in solidarity.
This poster was printed in English and Spanish, with this poster in Spanish, "Por un bicentenario sin colonias / Libertad para las naciones oprimidas / Por la plena democracia y igualdad / Por empleos y un nivel de vida decoroso" Very good condition, folded twice in quarters. Item #3700
