REAGAN'S RANCH: A Tent City Vigil Against Reaganomics [protest poster]
Boston: ACORN, 1982. Poster (17-1/4 x 22-1/4 inches). Black ink on salmon-colored cardstock. Poster for "Reagan's Ranch", a five-day tent city occupation organized by Massachussetts Association of Community Organizations (ACORN) in Boston's Cadman Plaza (although happening in conjunction with similar actions in other American cities) during the lead-up to the mid-term elections. The action provided mutual aid for the community and attendees in the form of shelter, free meals, and education. One of Occupy Wall Street's many spiritual predecessors in its attempt not just to criticize Ronald Reagan's economic policies favoring the rich and stripping the lower class of support and resources, but also demonstrate the power of community support. Speakers at the event included Major Owens (on the precipice of his first term as a US Representative) and Dick Gregory. Uncommon; OCLC seems to locate no holdings (February 2025). Near Fine.
