Hardcover, 7" x 9 7/8", navy buckram with gilt lettering, no dust jacket, 99 pp. Well-know Boston area bio-psychologist whose life work was dedicated to the concrete understanding and analysis of dreams. Serving under Woodrow Wilson, Horton's work critically examined dream analysis in connection to war neurosis developed by returning American troops from World War I. He contributed speculative articles on trench warfare and developed a critique of 'shell shock' leading to the understanding of it as PTSD. Contents include 'Commentary on the Individual Catalogue of Dreams' and 'Tested Interpretations Exhibited in the Random Selection.' Teal errata slips pasted in on introductory page xiii and pps. 25 & 51. Horton was also sometimes consulted to find missing persons based on a psychoanalysis of their last know whereabouts.
