Erudos was a peer and close friend of Tom of Finland, who he worked alongside from the 1950s through his death helping create a new machismo image for gay erotica depiction that tacked more into machismo, leather, and beefcake. Orejudo began publishing with gay arts imprint Target Studios after losing much of his work in a plumbing flood in the 1970s.Initiation is the story of an outlaw biker gang and their raunchy initiations, stands as one of his earlier efforts with Target, and in its nondescript, discreet binding, remains a scarcity on the market since its original heyday in sleaze stores and back-page mail order catalogs.
