Rimbaud in New York 1978-79

New York: Roth Horowitz, 2004. First Edition of 1000. Hardcover [quarto], baby blue boards illustrated to front and back with the same of Wojnarowicz's Rimbaud mask in question. No jacket, as issued. Highly sought after photography book of Wojanrowicz's storied "Rimbaud in New York" series, taken by the young artist in the late 70s around New York on a borrowed camera. The photos depict a lone figure in an Arthur Rimbaud mask in various settings pedestrian and subterranean: eating on the Coney Island boardwalk, masturbating on his bed, shooting up. One of the many bodies of Wojnarowicz's work to be recirculated up and made newly resonant in the 2000s.

Includes laid-in promotional announcement and cardstock flyer for the show itself. Very Good, trifle rubbed to extremities, minor soiling to boards, else bright and clean. Item #1106
